Pawn — money now, keep the option to buy it back

You leave the watch with us, take an agreed sum, and have a fixed period to repay it plus interest and take the watch home. If you do not repay in time, the watch becomes ours.

The honest version: you receive less than selling outright, because we carry the risk that you do not come back. Pawn makes sense when you are confident about the money arriving and the watch matters to you personally. If you are not confident, selling outright is usually the better decision — pawning and then losing the watch is the most expensive way to sell it.

Trade-in

Bring a watch, put it against something else in our stock, pay or receive the difference. Usually better value than selling to us and buying elsewhere, because there is only one spread instead of two.

Authentication

We inspect and tell you whether a watch is genuine and whether parts have been replaced, with a written opinion if you need one. Useful before buying privately or from an online listing.

If you are considering a private purchase, bring the seller and the watch here and do the deal at our counter. It costs you nothing and removes most of the risk from the transaction.

Service and repair

Movement servicing, crystal replacement, bracelet and strap work, water resistance testing. If you are asking because you plan to sell, ask us first — for many watches the service costs more than it adds to the price.

Consignment

We hold the watch and sell it on your behalf for a share of the sale. You get more than an outright sale but you wait, and there is no guarantee of when it sells. Sensible if you are not in a hurry and the watch is desirable.
